From the likes of Inside EVs comes a bit of Ford EV news:
Go read them, I’ll wait (just don’t read the comments LOL). Oh and pick your jaw up off the floor. 110+ mile range (projected) for the FFE that is a good 40+ mile boost. Very nice–granted not 200 miles like Bolt and Tesla but some over promising (Ford had said the 2017 FFE will go only 100 miles).
If you look at the rest of the industry Ford is just following along…albeit at a little slower pace. Both the Nissan Leaf and the BMW i3 have or will soon have ~30kWh battery options now the FFE will as well. Both Nissan and BMW have promised much longer range in future versions (The Leaf in the next product cycle). Ford is just doing the same: 30+ kWh in the 2017 FFE and a new “200 mile” EV in the next product cycle. They will be there in the same playground, just a day or so late (we’ll see if Ford can beat Tesla’s Model 3 to market LOL).
